Practice

My practice honours the invisible, the subtle atmospheres, the frequencies and energies that surround, permeate and inform us. Spiritual. Relational. Invitational.
I also explore my interest in the nature of consciousness, not necessarily what is seen, but ‘what sees’. Reality as a living, breathing mystery, one we can commune with, refined, subtle, paradoxical and deeply sensitive.

There is no separation
between the spiritual
and the aesthetic,
the seen and the unseen,
only degrees of attunement.

What I’m drawn to is how we can perceive the invisible, vibrational resonance as a perceptual mode. How the being picks up information beyond the visible, and how that can be translated into a visual field.
How consciousness becomes relational.
Awareness as participation.
A communion with form and formlessness alike.
I use the term energy carefully. For me it does not refer to something vague or imagined, but to the tonal atmosphere that exists in all living systems. The rhythms, intelligence and suffused warmth moving through ~ everything.

The mystery opens more
possibility than the known.
Our imaginations are infinite
in their intangibility, mighty
in their ineffable scope.

Creation is a sacred act. Communicating perceptions of resonance into form and relational work through devotion and honesty, is the essence of a spiritual artist's practice.
We need to believe again in this world, and art can serve as a modern form of spiritual encounter, where both the creation and viewing of art become acts of reflection, transformation or quiet transcendence.
